Technical data
Enzyme Concentration
- RNase (DNase-free) is supplied at a concentration 10 mg/ml; ~900 U/ml.
Components and Packaging
- 1 test tube RNase (DNase-free), 5 000 U/500 µl.
- 1 test tube with 5x concentrated react buffer, 1 ml.
Unit Definition
- One unit corresponds to the amount of enzyme which hydrolyzes RNA at a rate constant k = 1 at 25oC and pH 5.0 (M. Kunitz, J. Biol. Chem., 164: 563, 1946).
Storage
- At temperature -20oC ± 5°C. Material can be repeatedly defrosted.
Composition
- Storage buffer: 20 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5 at 20oC), 30 mM NaCl, 50% (vol/vol) glycerol.
Quality control
- Under conditions completely degrading RNA, the enzyme has no effect on DNA (as defined by electrophoresis in agarose gel).
